“I chose Littlejohn because they put me at ease straight away and created a great first impression. I really liked the people and could see myself fitting in well. It was quite hectic to begin with but this meant that I settled in quickly. A few social events helped me to get to know people and everyone was very friendly and approachable. Knowing I was new, they didn't rush me and expect me to know everything in my first month.
“The nature of my work is varied. My main duty is to provide technical advice on areas such as auditing and accounting standards and company law to staff. I also write and present training courses, am involved in some client work - such as accounts preparation - and sit on several internal committees.
“Obviously I'm office-based, but I had to give a presentation on corporate governance to a client on one occasion. I hope to do more of this in the future. I genuinely like the work, including the technical, research and training aspect. What's really nice about the firm as a whole is that the atmosphere is not unnecessarily formal, yet has just the right balance.”
